CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower as commodities weigh

TORONTO, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock exchange opened lower on Tuesday, as a drop in commodity prices after China tightened monetary policy dragged down the natural resources and energy-heavy index.

At 9:30 a.m. (1430 GMT) the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened down 69.66 points, or 0.58 percent at 11,877.47. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
