CANADA STOCKS-TSX edges up as financial gains offset energy drop

TORONTO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock exchange opened little changed on Wednesday as a drop in energy shares was offset by gains in financials and the traditionally defensive telecom and utility sectors.

Shortly after the open, the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE turned positive, rising 2.42 points to 11,822.60. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
