CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher, helped by firmer oil
TORONTO Jan 14 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock exchange index was little changed after opening slightly higher as a rise in oil and gold prices offset the impact of unexpectedly weak U.S. job benefits and retail sales data.
At 9:30 a.m. (1430 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 5.35 points or 0.05 percent at 11,858.91. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
