CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower on weaker commodity prices
TORONTO Jan 20 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened lower on Wednesday as materials and energy shares were hit as commodity prices fell on fresh evidence of tightening credit policy in China.
At 9:30 a.m. (1430 GMT) the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 57.90 points, or 0.49 percent, at 11,705.52. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
