CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher on rising commodities

TORONTO, Feb 1 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock market index rose across the board at the open on Monday with its heavyweight resource groups leading the way on rising commodity prices.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened 55.37 points, or 0.5 percent, higher at 11,149.68. The index’s energy and materials groups each rose more than 1 percent. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
