TORONTO, Feb 18 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market index was slightly higher on Thursday on strength in gold shares as the price of the precious metal was steady and Barrick Gold (ABX.TO) reported higher quarterly profit.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 13.78 points at 11,649.27, after opening slightly lower.
