CANADA STOCKS-Barrick, gold shares lift TSX
TORONTO Feb 18 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market index was slightly higher on Thursday on strength in gold shares as the price of the precious metal was steady and Barrick Gold (ABX.TO: Quote) reported higher quarterly profit.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 13.78 points at 11,649.27, after opening slightly lower.
