CANADA STOCKS-TSX tops 12,000 as resource shares climb
TORONTO, March 8 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock market index climbed on Monday as firmness in oil and metal prices propped up heavily-weighted resource shares.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was 43.75 points, or 0.37 percent, higher at 12,018.89 at the open, touching its highest level since Jan. 11. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
