CANADA STOCKS-TSX closes session lower, but ends quarter up

TORONTO, March 31 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock market closed lower on Wednesday as weak banking shares offset gains for resources, but it still ended the quarter higher.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially ended down 12.39 points, or 0.1 percent, to 12,031.82 (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
