CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher on rallying oil, gold

TORONTO, April 9 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index opened higher on Friday as a rise in commodity prices boosted weighty energy and materials shares.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 35.73 points, or 0.29 percent, at 12,149.26 (Reporting by Claire Sibonney, editing by Peter Galloway)
