CANADA STOCKS-TSX up as financials rise, resources cut loss

TORONTO, April 19 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose on Monday as heavily weighted financial shares showed strength and resource shares pared losses.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 29.46 points, or 0.24 percent, at 12,100.12, fighting back from a near 1-percent drop early in the day. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
