CANADA STOCKS-TSX ends higher as gold hits record high
TORONTO, May 11 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index ended higher on Tuesday in a rally led by safe-haven gold shares, which rose as the price of the precious metal hit a record high above $1,230 an ounce.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 48.95 points, or 0.41 percent, at 11,996.85. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
