CANADA STOCKS-TSX extends rise, up 1 pct on oil, UTS deal
TORONTO, July 7 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index extended its gains 1 percent on Wednesday as a rebound in oil prices and a deal by Total SA (TOTF.PA: Quote) to buy UTS Energy Corp UTS.TO boosted prospects for the powerhouse energy sector.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 111.84 points, or 1 percent, at 11,312.01. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Rob Wilson)
