CANADA STOCKS-TSX turns negative on gold weakness

TORONTO, July 8 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index turned negative shortly after the open on Thursday as gold shares dragged down the heavily-weighted materials sector.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 2.01 points at 11,395.26. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
