CANADA STOCKS-TSX slides as growth fears hit commodity prices

TORONTO, July 16 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index skidded 2 percent on Friday as worries about a slow global economic recovery weighed on commodity prices, pushing down shares of resource companies.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE fell 235.61 points, or 2.01 percent, to 11,506.16. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Rob Wilson)
