CANADA STOCKS-TSX jumps on U.S. earnings, oil rally

TORONTO, July 22 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose sharply on Thursday, lifted by buoyant oil prices and by strong U.S. corporate earnings that eased concern about the health of economic recovery.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed 142.72 points, or 1.24 percent, higher at 11,656.05. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
