CANADA STOCKS-TSX slips, as golds lead materials down
TORONTO, July 27 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index closed lower on Tuesday, weighed down by gold and other materials issues as optimism for solid corporate earnings was hurt by a sharp drop in July consumer confidence in the United States.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 32.67 points, or 0.28 percent, at 11,713.40. (Reporting by Pav Jordan; editing by Rob Wilson)
