TORONTO, Aug 5 (Reuters) -Toronto's main stock market index opened a hair higher on Thursday but quickly turned negative, pulled down by weak commodity-linked shares and by a steep quarterly loss posted by Manulife Financial (MFC.TO).
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 0.38 of a point at 11,845.43. It then quickly fell 30.70 points to 11,814.35. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
