CANADA STOCKS-TSX turns lower as golds weigh

TORONTO, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index dipped into negative territory on Monday as declining gold mining issues outweighed optimism for several big corporate merger deals.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was off 0.8 of a point at 11,721.27. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Rob Wilson)
