CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises on earnings, firm commodities
TORONTO Oct 28 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose at the open on Thursday as some impressive Canadian corporate earnings, firm commodity prices and solid U.S. employment data combined to fuel investor optimism.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened 1.12 points, or 0.01 percent, higher at 12,568.37, before further extending gains. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
