CANADA STOCKS-Toronto stocks rise as commodities climb
TORONTO, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Toronto's resource-heavy main stock index rose on Friday as stronger-than-expected Chinese manufacturing data eased concerns about the global recovery, lighting a fire under commodity prices.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 1.11 points to 12,369.76 at the open and then extended gains. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
