CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher, boosted by resources

TORONTO, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index climbed on Monday, helped by gains in materials and energy shares, as commodity prices rose following strong Chinese manufacturing data.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE edged up 6.48 points, or 0.05 percent, to 12,682.72, at the opening bell, then quickly extended gains. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
