CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher on commodities, risk rally

TORONTO, Jan 4 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index started the first trading session of the year on a high note Tuesday, as commodity prices rose and global market sentiment remained bullish.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 4.42 points at 13,447.64, before further extending gains. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
