TORONTO, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index was little changed in opening action on Thursday as commodity prices traded flat and some U.S. data disappointed investors amid growing optimism about the outlook for the American economy.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 19.19 points or, 0.1 percent, at 13,376.80, after briefly turning positive. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
