CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises after big Canada, US job gains

TORONTO, May 6 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Friday after stronger-than-expected employment numbers on both sides of the U.S. border helped lift investor sentiment.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 1.19 points at 13,456.57 before extending gains. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
