TORONTO, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Tuesday, lifted by strong gold mining shares.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened 13.34 points, or 0.16 percent, higher at 13,833.51. Six of the TSX's 10 main groups rose with the materials sector, home to gold miners, up 0.94 percent. (Reporting by Solarina Ho; editing by Peter Galloway)
