CANADA STOCKS-TSX retreats for a third day, financials weigh

TORONTO Aug 12 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index fell for a third session on Thursday, led by banks and insurers, amid deepening apprehension over the outlook for global economic recovery.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 48.35 points, or 0.42 percent, at 11,533.86. That followed a 2.2 percent retreat on Wednesday to its lowest level in nearly three weeks. (Reporting by Pav Jordan; Editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
