TORONTO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Thursday as as miners rallied on news of another multibillion dollar merger in the Canadian mining sector and as firm oil prices supported the energy sector.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 10.80 points, or 0.08 percent, at 13,471.01.
