CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher after Bernanke speech

TORONTO, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index opened higher on Friday after a speech by U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke pointed to another round of monetary policy easing by the U.S. central bank.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 0.27 of point at 12,619.96, before extending gains. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
