CANADA STOCKS-TSX flat as banks and oils rise, miners fall

TORONTO Oct 18 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index was little changed at the open on Monday as a slight rise in financial and energy shares was balanced by weakness in miners.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened down 0.29 of a point at 12,608.78. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
