TORONTO Nov 18 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose more than 1 percent at the open on Thursday as stronger commodity prices buoyed the heavily-weighted materials group, and expectations that Ireland may soon see a solution to its debt crisis lifted market sentiment.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE climbed 127.52 points, or 1.01 percent, to 12,785.35 shortly after the open.
Nine of the 10 key groups were in higher.
