CANADA STOCKS-TSX broadly lower as economy fears persist
TORONTO Aug 20 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index fell broadly in opening trade on Friday, tracking equity markets around the world as jitters lingered about a faltering global economic recovery.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 34.49 points, or 0.29 percent, at 11,675.69, shortly after the market opened. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
