CANADA STOCKS-TSX close highest since April as gold soars
TORONTO, Sept 20 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index finished the session at its highest closing level since April on Monday as gold prices hit a record high and other commodity prices gained, lifted by expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve will keep its policies steady at a meeting this week.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 69.95 points, or 0.58 percent, to 12,234.51. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Jeffrey Hodgson)
