CANADA STOCKS-TSX ends sharply higher on commodities, banks

TORONTO, March 21 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index closed sharply higher on Monday, pushing to its strongest level in more than a week as energy, gold and financial shares led a broad-based rally.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 224.07 points, or 1.62 percent, at 14,013.70. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
