CANADA STOCKS-TSX slightly higher, aided by U.S. earnings
TORONTO Oct 21 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index edged higher at the open on Thursday as investor sentiment firmed on another round of strong corporate earnings reports in the United States, but weaker commodity prices undermined the gains.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 13.68 points, or 0.11 percent, to 12,663.60. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
