CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher as commodity prices rise
TORONTO, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Friday, helped by firmer commodity prices and figures that showed Canadian retail sales rose and that inflation pressures remained tame.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE edged 0.70 of a point higher to 12,599.93 at the open. (Reporting by Jennifer Kwan; editing by Peter Galloway)
