CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises on firm resource prices
TORONTO, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Friday on rising resource prices, including a record high for gold, as new U.S. data eased recent jitters about the pace of global economic recovery.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 1.84 points to 12,103.63, then quickly extended gains. All 10 of the index's main groups were higher, led by materials, which rose 0.5 percent. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
