CANADA STOCKS-Commodities, M&A news nudge TSX higher
TORONTO, April 25 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened slightly higher on Monday, with rising commodity prices and news that Barrick Gold Corp ABX.TO struck a deal to buy Equinox Minerals EQN.TO lifting investor sentiment.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 17.83 points, or 0.13 percent, at 13,989.85.
