CANADA STOCKS-TSX heads higher on resources at the open
TORONTO Oct 25 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose at the open on Monday as commodities, which are largely priced in U.S. dollars, surged on a broad selloff in the U.S. dollar.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE edged up 7.77 points, or 0.06 percent, to 12,608.95, before quickly adding to gains. Nine of its 10 sectors were higher, led by a 1.4 percent advance in the heavily weighted materials group. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
