TORONTO Jan 26 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose at the open on Wednesday as commodity prices climbed after U.S. President Barack Obama's call for spending cuts hardened views that the Federal Reserve will maintain its ultra-loose monetary policy.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened 45.20 points, or 0.34 percent, higher at 13,304.83. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
