CANADA STOCKS-TSX ends flat as materials weigh
TORONTO, April 26 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index finished virtually unchanged on Tuesday as a drop in gold and silver prices hit shares of precious metal miners, offseting a boost to sentiment from a raft of strong U.S. earnings.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 1.78 points at 13,909.10. Seven sectors were higher, but a 1.25 percent drop in materials weighed heavily. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Rob Wilson)
