CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens flat as banks, base metals slide

TORONTO, April 27 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index was little changed in early dealings on Wednesday as weaker financial and base-metal shares offset a rise in gold miners.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 3.66 points to 13,912.76 and then turned negative shortly after the open. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
