TORONTO, Dec 29 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rose in early trade on Wednesday, as material shares rallied on buoyant gold and copper prices.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 14.37 points, or 0.11 percent, to 13,397.53. Five of the index's 10 main groups were higher, led by a 1.3 percent jump in the materials sector.
