CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens sharply higher, Valeant leads

 TORONTO, March 30 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index
was sharply higher in opening trade on Wednesday, led up by
Valeant Pharmaceuticals International VRX.TO, which made a
takeover bid for Cephalon Inc CEPH.O.
 The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
.GSPTSE was up 76.26 points at 14,006.61 shortly after the
 ($1=$0.97 Canadian)
