CANADA STOCKS-TSX rises more than 1 pct, Valeant surges

TORONTO, March 30 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index rallied broadly higher on Wednesday morning, led up by commodity shares and surging shares of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International VRX.TO, which made a takeover bid for Cephalon Inc CEPH.O.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 159.03 points, or 1.14 percent, at 14,089.38. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Peter Galloway)
