CANADA STOCKS-TSX ends lower, but up on month and quarter
TORONTO, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index closed lower on Thursday, weighed down by weak gold-mining shares and profit-taking on the last day of a solid quarter and an unusually strong September.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed down 14.17 points, or 0.1 percent, at 12,368.65.
It gained almost 4 percent for the month and almost 10 percent for the third quarter.
