TORONTO, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index was higher in early trade on Tuesday after seesawing at the open on weakness in energy issues and strength in materials shares.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 8.61 points at 12,904.26, after opening slightly lower.
Eight of the index's 10 sectors were lower, led by soft energy issues, while materials gained on a gold miners' rally. Info tech, up more than 1 percent, was supported by Research In Motion RIM.TO, which soared on analysts' upgrades. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
