CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens up on energy, financials
TORONTO Jan 31 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index opened higher on Monday as energy, base metals and financial, shares rose slightly, although gains were held in check by weaker gold miners.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE opened up 0.80 of a point at 13,438.38, and continued climbing. (Reporting by Claire Sibonney; editing by Janet Guttsman)
