CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower on U.S. fiscal uncertainty

TORONTO, Dec 20 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened
lower on Thursday, led by mining stocks and falling gold prices,
as the uncertainty surrounding U.S. congressional budget talks
dragged on.
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was down 13.72 points, or 0.11 percent, at 12,389.91
shortly after the open.
