CANADA STOCKS-TSX hits 2-1/2-week high on U.S. earnings boost

TORONTO, July 9 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index rose
on Tuesday to reach its highest in more than two weeks, led by
gains in materials and financials, as a strong start to the U.S.
earnings season boosted market sentiment and lifted global
markets. 
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was up 36.61 points, or 0.30 percent, at 12,245.48
shortly after the open.
