CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens higher after Shoppers jumps on Loblaw deal

TORONTO, July 15 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index
opened higher on Monday, boosted by gains in Shoppers Drug Mart
Corp after grocer Loblaw Cos Ltd agreed to buy
the pharmacy chain for C$12.4 billion ($11.9 billion).
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was up 80.05 points, or 0.64 percent, at 12,542.23
shortly after the open.
